Welcome to my little corner of the universe. I am Filia Lux, a writer, world builder and bookbinder based In Scotland, UK.

I write young adult fiction that explores morality, light v dark tropes, the boundaries of technology, consciousness, and what it truly means to care for creation, whether it is the creation of what we may call ‘other’ non-human or the creation of ourselves as we evolve as a species.

My stories often dive into complex ethical debates. Asking difficult questions about equality, agency before proof, and the weight of responsibility we carry as we venture forward into new eras.

When I am not lost in the cosmos, infinite worlds, real and imagined, and our place amongst them, you can find me at my workbench, drawing or exploring Scotland’s vast and beautiful forests.

The Bindery and The Dancing Hares.

I believe that stories deserve physical vessels that reflect the care and craftsmanship put into writing them.

As a customer I could not afford the quality I envisioned, nor could I guarantee the elements of book craft that matter to me would be honoured. So I created my own private press, The Dancing Hares, where I will hand-bind physical copies of my books and special additions using traditional, heritage methods.

Every book that leaves my bindery is crafted with intention.

  • Heritage materials: Built using traditional hand-sewn bindings, natural fibres, and ethically sourced, high quality-paper.

  • Classic details: Embellished with real gold and silver gilt, custom-designed endpapers, and genuine silk bookmarks. Limited edition designs, strictly capped at ten copies per edition.

  • The Personal Touch: Every copy will be personally signed and stamped before it makes its way to its new home.
